Ron Paul: Is There a Big Audience of Red Pill Poppers?
I would get rid of the inflation tax. It’s a tax that nobody talks about. We live way beyond our means, with a foreign policy we can’t afford, and an entitlement system that we have encouraged. We print money for it. The value of the money goes down, and poor people pay higher prices. That is a tax. That’s a transfer of wealth from the poor and the middle class to Wall Street. Wall Street’s doing quite well, but the inflation tax is eating away at the middle class of this country. We need to get rid of the inflation tax with sound money. – Ron Paul, GOP Presidential debate
I rarely wade into politics, but felt I had to on this one. It is clear that Ron Paul gets the whole Pig Men looting scheme picture in spades. Because he is a doctrinaire Libertarian, I don’t know if he is quite the Teddy Roosevelt reincarnate that I feel is necessary now. Although Paul has the intellectual and revolutionary zeal that comes close to the mark, a true Teddy R would bring the regulatory power of the government down hard on the scamsters and looters. I’m just not sure what Paul would do other than remove the punch bowl.
Regardless of this difference that I may have with him, I await with bated breath to see if Paul gets some exposure, and an opportunity to further effectively articulate his views. For instance here is very clear on his talking points on Iraq, spending, and illegal immigration. I consider him a serious actor on the stage especially now, and predict he may be the big surprise of the political season.
Then again the Ministry of Truth apparatus may just shut him down before he gets out of the gates. His press treatment after the GOP debates is illustrative of how this Matrix blue pill works, and that’s really what I’m interested in putting forth here. My open question is this one, and I don’t know the answer yet. Is their a budding Revolution that is not being televised? There may be a much larger red pill audience (slow load, what about fifteen seconds into the clip) out there than meets the eye?

Case in point, MSNBC put up a tabulation allowing debate watchers to rate candidate performance. Almost none of the GOP candidates garnered much of a positive reaction, but after about 81,000 responses as of this writing Sunday, Paul scores 37%, Romney 28%, Guliani 25%, McCain 19%, Huckabee, 13%, and the other five candidates under 10%.
C Span ran a poll asking for best performance and Paul garnered 73%. ABC ran a debate performance poll and Paul scored 87%. Yet Ron Paul is not even mentioned in this ABC article about the debate. Typical of pundit talk is this from Dick Morris of Fox News. Here we see the Washington Post on the debate, again no mention and yet nearly in the whole comment section relates to Ron Paul. Perhaps this is a campaign tactic of “ballot stuffing”, but if so it still indicates a pretty dedicated cadre of supporters, and that’s how revolutions get started. Guess we will see soon enough in the national polls.
